Mirror of Darkness

London, 1562. The great city of Elizabeth greeted Amfortas with cold. The ship sailed up the Thames, its fate leading it back to familiar port. The smoke of a thousand chimney pipes reflected in the icy obsidian waters, mingling with the stench of filth from every drain and the smell of cooking from every street. High above the city, casting a black shadow over both sinners and the pious, stood the great Norman stronghold of William the Conqueror - the Tower of London - its thick white walls and four towers - unshakeable symbols of absolute power and dominion.
