Dostoevsky and Existentialism

This publication is a deep immersion of the writer and literary scholar Viktor Erofeev into the artistic world of existentialism. Erofeev addresses the ideas of A. Camus, J.-P. Sartre, F. Nietzsche, L. Shestov, N. Berdyaev, G. Marcel and analyzes them through the prism of the works of Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky. However, the author sees his goal not as debunking the “myth of the ‘existentialist’ nature of Dostoevsky's creativity.” Erofeev reflects on the fact that existence in the philosophy of existence is fraught with a metaphysical conflict of faith and disbelief, and man is mortal. The publication is aimed at specialists in the field of literature and philosophy, as well as a wide range of readers.
