The Master and Margarita

Mikhail Bulgakov began writing the novel "The Master and Margarita" during the most difficult period of his life, when his plays were being removed from production and the writer himself received denunciations. But the great novel about the visit of Satan to Moscow in the 1920s, which combined all the farce of the surrounding reality with an "evangelical" narrative, not only became the main work of the writer's life but also brought him worldwide fame – unfortunately, posthumously. The complex and ideologically rich artistic world of the novel can be studied for years, returning to it over time and discovering new meanings for oneself once again.
