The Family of von Beck

This is the story of Ulrich von Beck, a cynical mercenary trading his martial talents in the conflicts shaking all of Europe. After becoming a participant in the unprecedentedly brutal destruction of an entire city, von Beck decides to leave... the military company he worked for and travel alone for a while before seeking a new position. On his journey, he accidentally stumbles upon a castle, where he finds refuge and then falls in love with the castle's keeper, the beautiful Sabrina. It is in this castle that he meets Lucifer, the lord of Hell, and learns that his soul is already doomed to end up in Hell. And so, in exchange for his soul, von Beck agrees to Lucifer's proposal to find the Cure for the Pain of the Whole World. This impossible mission is also known as the search for the Holy Grail. Traveling through Europe, von Beck will find himself drawn into wars, politics, intrigues, and romantic affairs. But he cannot afford to forget his goal - and the monstrous deal made with the devil…
