The Devil's Regret

On a summer day, Ida joyfully runs out of the house with her dolls to pick flowers for her mother, and does not return. It hasn't rained for an eternity. Because of the heat, the small forest lake, which Emilia Sande visits so often, has almost dried up. The water level is dropping, and the woman's despair is growing. Frude Granhus (1965–2017) was a Norwegian writer, author of detective novels set in the Lofoten Islands. It is in these places, known for their picturesque landscapes and harsh climate, that he was born and lived his entire life. The wild and unpredictable northern nature creates a special tense atmosphere in Granhus's novels. "The Devil's Regret" is the third book in the well-known detective series about Inspector Rino Carlsen. The first two books in the series, "Whirlpool" and "Storm," were released in Russian in 2020 and 2021.
