Little Women

"Little Women" is a novel by American writer Louisa May Alcott (1832–1888) that tells the story of the lives of four March sisters - Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy. Based on her own memories of growing up surrounded by three... sisters, Alcott makes them prototypes of the main characters, representing herself as the straightforward, headstrong, and stubborn Jo. These very different little women, despite their complicated relationships, support each other during difficult times for the family: their father is fighting in the Civil War, and in his absence, they struggle with poverty. But despite everything, the lives of the March sisters are full of color: they play, put on shows, make new friends, argue, struggle with their vices, learn from their mistakes, care for each other during illnesses, and get into all sorts of trouble…
