Heart of Darkness

The works of Joseph Conrad (1857–1924) were read not only by the general public but also by future literary colleagues: several generations of writers from Jack London and Ernest Hemingway to William Faulkner and Graham Greene learned from him the art of composition, the brevity of description, and the expressive music of phrases. Joseph Conrad was from a Polish family. 

Having hired as a sailor on an English merchant ship, he traveled to all continents, earned the rank of captain, and gained British citizenship.

He was fluent in Polish and French, but began writing in English, and very quickly achieved success in this field. 

This edition includes the best novellas by Conrad: "Heart of Darkness," "Typhoon," "Freya of the Seven Islands."
