Wandering through camps and monasteries

“Wandering through Camps and Monasteries” by the writer and artist Pavel Pepperstein is a novel in which the characters, in the setting of a detective story, travel through places and communities - both quite real and as if closed in a cocoon of their own reality. Here the heroes are split into two, and by turning the page, you can find yourself in a separate phantasmagorical plot and be carried away by a living stream of words, trolleys of synonyms, language games, ironic parodies, unexpected digressions, and a mosaic of literary and cultural references. And the novel even opens suddenly, quite in the Kharms spirit - with a fight with an old woman.
