The Stroud Institute promises its patients special care and concern, but Professor Miranda Ventham questions its methods and soon begins to notice oddities in the behavior of the staff and in the very architecture of the hospital. Will the professor be able to unravel the mysteries hidden behind the walls of the institute and recover from her illness, or is she destined for another, much less enviable fate?
