Akathist for Reading in Various Needs

This collection is made up of akathists (hymns of praise) dedicated to the Lord, the Mother of God, and the saints. In church practice, akathists are sung or read at certain services and at molebens before revered relics. The prayer... practice suggests reading them during private (home) prayers. Almost every akathist in the collection is accompanied by a brief commentary recommending its possible use for moleben petitions in various needs. The foundation of this is based on either the titles of the icons themselves or church traditions related to miraculous events, healings, and pious customs associated with them.
