Joel Chandler Harris was an American journalist, writer, and the author of the famous "Uncle Remus's Tales." It was J.C. Harris who invented Uncle Remus, who told the tales of black slaves. Soon, there was enough folklore material for a... whole book, which was published in 1880. Throughout his career, Joel Harris wrote many works about the cunning Brother Rabbit and the equally clever Brother Fox, who became beloved by both children and adults around the world. There were so many tales that they were all published as separate books and printed in large editions. Our book "Uncle Remus's Tales" includes eight stories with color illustrations by Arthur Frost. It was he who illustrated the first editions of "Uncle Remus's Tales" at the end of the 19th century, and thanks to him, readers saw what Brother Rabbit and other characters from Harris's tales looked like. Arthur Frost is considered one of the best artists of the "Golden Age of American Illustration."
