Peter Nikolayevich Wrangel — a great Russian military leader, participant in the Russo-Japanese and World War I, lieutenant general, one of the main leaders of the White movement during the Civil War. His contemporaries called him 'the black baron' and 'the last knight of the Russian Empire.' Peter Wrangel is rightly considered a legendary military commander: even aware of the unfavorable development of events for him and his army, he did not switch to the side of the enemy and did everything to save the people who were loyal to him. The book includes the memoirs of Peter Wrangel: 'Outlines of the Russo-Japanese War. 1904.' and 'Notes. November 1916 — November 1920.', which tell about the revolution and the Civil War. These texts will narrate the life of a unique strong personality — 'the black baron' — and the dramatic events in the history of Russia — the exodus of the Russian army abroad. The publication also includes appendices: Order of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces in Southern Russia regarding land (appendix to Chapter III of Book Two of the 'Notes'), Service record of the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian army, lieutenant general Baron Wrangel (compiled on December 29, 1921), List of members of the Government of Southern Russia, Order of General P.N. Wrangel No. 1 and the Last Order of General P.N. Wrangel No. 86.
