Tales from Russian History. XVIII Century. Commanders

The new book from the series "Tales from Russian History" by Vladimir Medinsky, author of the famous "Myths about Russia", is dedicated to the outstanding Russian military leaders of the XVIII century.
The names of Minikh, Rumyantsev, Potemkin, Suvorov, Ushakov, and Orlov are marked in the most glorious pages of the history of the domestic army and navy. Kolberg and Kunersdorf, Rymnik and Izmail, Chesma and Corfu — these names are inscribed in golden letters in the history of military art.
The images of great commanders and naval leaders in this book are far from static titans of granite and bronze: they appear not as icons, but as living people with their weaknesses. Yet their charisma and charm, under which all their contemporaries fell, captivates us today as well.
