Great Military Leaders of Russia

This book collects the biographies of great commanders to whom Russia owes the most glorious pages of its history. Some we have known since childhood - Alexander Nevsky, Dmitry Donskoy, Alexander Suvorov, Mikhail Kutuzov, Fyodor Ushakov, Mikhail Skobelev, Alexei Ermolov… But there are also names much less known, yet no less renowned - Ivan Paskevich, Alexei Shein, or… Tsar Peter I, whose merits as a commander and military leader are sometimes underestimated even today. The reader will learn the most important facts about the military victories, characters, and life circumstances of these leaders. The biographies of the famous commanders are compiled based on the works of the best Russian historians. The edition is vividly illustrated with works of Russian battle painting and portraits of the commanders.
