Lizzie, who has worked in a library for many years, has now taken on the task of answering... emails sent to the podcast about how the whole world is going to hell. Only crazies and whiners write here - so she found herself in an ocean of fears and speculations about climate change and the end of civilization. Meanwhile, a doctor prescribes Lizzie a record for teeth grinding. Her husband reads under the blanket a story of an ancient war. The sleeping dog twitches its paws as if running somewhere. The son asks: "Are you really my mom? Sometimes you are very angry." It seems that life is a continuous madness, but the miracle is that everything is connected in this absurd world.
Deceptively light, written in short sketch-like paragraphs, as if on the go, the book is packed with sharp observations, astonishing facts, and truly complex emotions.
