The second (final) part of the novel "The Confession of the Marquise" is included in the next volume of the illustrated collected works of Alexandre Dumas.
This is the story of the amazing woman of the 18th century, Marie de Chamrond,... Marquise de Daffan. Her life was full of elegant twists and intricate bends, as she effortlessly mingled with free thinkers and philosophers, played cat and mouse with court adventurers and the powerful of the world. Deciding to reveal the whole truth about her time in her old age, she begins to dictate scandalous memoirs, in which she sincerely and rather unceremoniously unveils many secrets of the Regency and Louis XV era, recounts her encounters with Voltaire and Beaumarchais, Diderot and Rousseau, and the glorious and inglorious prototypes of the heroes of their immortal works, among whom, of course, was herself.
