HSK stands for "Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi", which translates to "Chinese Proficiency Test". It is an official international exam for foreigners in the Chinese language. It was introduced by the Chinese government in 2011.
This book is for those who... are afraid...
of HSK 3.0, whose hands drop at every news about the new standard, who feel they learned "the wrong Chinese" that will be on the exam; ...are just starting to learn Chinese and would like to have a solid foundation that will be a reliable support throughout the years of study; ...at an intermediate or advanced level of language strive to improve their knowledge of characters, while also checking how many words from the HSK 3.0 list are already familiar; ...want to improve their handwriting and practice writing characters in the correct order of strokes, copying not from printed versions but from samples written by hand; ...are interested in Chinese characters and intend to learn more about them. Before you are all 300 characters that must be written at the beginner level of HSK 3.0, along with a story about their history, a list of words from levels 1–6 in which they occur, and, of course, detailed stroke orders written by hand, so you no longer have to copy the print character writings. Sometimes, to remember a new word, it is enough to know the true meaning of the character. Learning Chinese is never easy, but it can be made logical!
