Russian Poem

This book is an elaborate commentary by Anatoly Naiman on the main, fundamental Russian poems: "The Bronze Horseman" by A.S. Pushkin, "Frost, Red Nose" by N.A. Nekrasov, "The Twelve" by A. Blok, "Cloud in Pants" by V. Mayakovsky, and "Poem... Without a Hero" by A. Akhmatova. Each of these poems is not only new in relation to the previous one, but each time offers the opportunity for new reading experience.
Naiman, like a guide, helps approach the essence of these poetic texts, familiar to us since childhood, to rediscover each poem for oneself anew — while at the same time "reading this piece as the author read it, to see and hear it as he saw and heard it."
The edition was compiled and prepared by the author and is accompanied by the author's own selection of illustrations that expand and complement the space of the text.
