1893. Henry James, a classic of American literature, is going through a deep creative crisis. He arrives in Paris and on a dreary March night attempts to drown himself in the Seine, but is rescued by an eccentric stranger who... calls himself Sherlock Holmes. He draws James into a journey across America to unravel the mysterious suicide of an old acquaintance of James, one of the founders of the aristocratic club of the Five Hearts. In this story, there will be knife duels and international terrorism, secret signs and unexpected insights, Uncle Tom's Cabin and Professor Moriarty, as well as Kipling, Roosevelt, Poirot, Mark Twain, and many others – a whole array of fictional characters and real celebrities.
