Three Ages of Okini-san

At the center of the novel “Three Ages of Okini-san” is the dramatic fate of Vladimir Kokovtsev, who progressed from midshipman to admiral of the Russian fleet. The writer takes his hero through a series of historical events — the Russo-Japanese and World War I, the February and October Revolutions, and depicts the complex political situation in the Far East, where the interests of Russia, England, and Japan collided.
