Zahhok

Post-Soviet Tajikistan is engulfed in civil war. A well-known doctor is killed, and his family is forced to hide with relatives in a mountain village. The Russian wife and mixed-race children are adapting to local life, where unfamiliar, brutal laws... of an unchanging way of life prevail. The same events are shown through the eyes of several participants — each with their own unique perspective on what is happening, motives for hatred, and personal boundaries of humanity.
