Berta Isla and Thomas Nevinson met in school and decided never to part. Thomas continued his studies at Oxford but was firmly convinced that, after graduating, he would return to Madrid. And indeed he returned, but he was no longer... the same Thomas. He took a good position at the British embassy and married Berta. However, she is troubled by her husband's frequent absences and changes in his character. The novel “Berta Isla” was awarded the Critics' Prize in Spain and named the best book of the year by several newspapers. He was also awarded the Dulce Chacón Prize and the Lettura 2018 Prize (Italy).
