This story took place between the two revolutions of 1917 in the Khabarovsk region — the land of the Evenks, hunters and gold diggers, adventurers, runaway convicts, and deserters.
The owner of the gold mine, Buligin, had his convoy, carrying 40 poods of gold, stolen by either Tungus or bandits. The owner, hastily assembling a squad of local "fortune seekers," sets out in search: to find and punish! But no one knows how this thrilling adventure will end.
Until the last page, the reader will not be able to tear away — mystifications, betrayal, and terrible crimes, as well as love, self-sacrifice, and hope. And the curse of the shaman...
