The War of the Roses. Book 1. Storm Petrel

King Henry the Fifth of the House of Lancaster, victor over the French at Agincourt, suddenly passed away, failing to turn the tide of the military campaign on the continent in his favor.

The legacy of the great Lion of England passed to his son, a weak-bodied and weak-spirited infant. Not only was Henry the Sixth unable to rule the kingdom mired in the Hundred Years' War without the support of regents, his powerful relatives, but he was also prone to fits of madness. And now the moment had come when the regent Richard Plantagenet, Duke of York, decided that without a strong king, the country would inevitably fall.

And it seems that his fears are destined to come true — French troops are achieving victory after victory, and rebellions are breaking out in English counties. So who is capable of saving the throne? Who will play the role of defender of England?
