Both Irina and her assistants are people with complicated destinies and problems; they not only have to resolve someone else's fate but also deal with their own lives. Evidence is rarely conclusive and convincing one hundred percent, and human beings are imperfect; it is rarely possible to judge completely impartially, which is why the search for the right solution is difficult and painful.
