Memoirs of a Killer

The main character of the story is a seventy-year-old man who is rapidly losing his memory due to illness. In a desperate struggle for his fading memories, he writes snippets of the past and present in a notebook. In the past, he was a serial killer, but he abandoned his profession twenty-five years ago. The bodies of his victims are buried in a bamboo forest behind his house; his adopted daughter Eunkyung is the child of the last woman he killed. In the area where the protagonist lives, murders of young women occur one after another, and a suspicious young man who drives a hunting jeep begins to take an interest in Eunkyung. The old man is forced to return to his bloody trade to protect Eunkyung at all costs. Will he be able to carry out his plan before he irrevocably forgets his victims, his daughter, and himself? Kim Young-ha is one of the most influential contemporary South Korean writers, whose works are translated, published, and adapted into films in many countries, and the author himself has become a living legend of Korean literature.
