Before you is the second edition of Volume I of "Capital" by Karl Marx, the main work of the classic of political economy and its outstanding representative. The first edition, published in 2011 as part of the series "Capital. Karl Marx", was well received by both the scientific community and the wide reading audience. Despite the emergence of alternative publications of the first volume of "Capital", the completeness and structure of the material presented in this edition remain unmatched. The edition includes not only the text of "Capital" but also a number of thematically related texts and analytical fragments, as well as an updated translation of the "Economic and Philosophical Manuscripts of 1844". The rich experience accumulated in both the classic Soviet editions of Volume I and the latest German edition within the most authoritative project in the world, MEGA (1991), has been widely utilized. The preface to the volume provides a comprehensive reflection on Marx's work in the context of modern research, encompassing achievements not only in economics but also in the natural sciences.
