Teffi (Nadezhda Alexandrovna Lokhvitskaya (1872—1952) — the true «queen of Russian humor», «Chekhov in a skirt», as her contemporaries called her. A writer of short stories and feuilletons, a poetess, a memoirist. Her work was personally read by Nicholas II, and candies and perfumes were named after Teffi. She survived three revolutions, two world wars, emigrated to Paris in the 1920s, but managed to retain her spontaneity and ability to laugh at ordinary daily situations.
