Samurai - Knights of the Land of the Rising Sun

To understand who the samurai were, these stern and brave warriors of the Far East, known as Japanese knights, one must become acquainted with the history of Japan, its culture and traditions, which have roots that reach back into a distant past. The book "Samurai – Knights of the Land of the Rising Sun" provides a brief overview of Japanese history, starting from its division into historical eras and ending with key dates and events related to the history of the samurai from their emergence up until the disappearance of the samurai class in 1876. The author details the system of chivalric education, the ideology of the samurai, the code of bushido, customs, traditions, rituals, weapons, and armor of the ancient warriors. Although the time of the samurai has irretrievably passed, they made a significant contribution to the development of Japan, leaving a bright mark in the history, culture, and philosophy of the Land of the Rising Sun.
