Love and Friendship

The small novel "Love and Friendship," written by Austen at the age of fifteen, is a parody of the long-winded romantic compositions that were so popular in the 18th century. Laura, an experienced and mature lady, who has already passed the age at which women are subjected to the persistent courtship of tiresome admirers and the cruel pursuit of stubborn fathers, recounts in detail the hardships and vicissitudes of her life… This collection also includes two other early novels by Jane Austen — "Lady Susan" and "Lesley Castle".
