The Path of Life

Leo Nikolayevich Tolstoy (1828-1910) is not only a classic of literature but also a great thinker, a religious and philosophical figure. He is known as the founder of the "concept of non-violence," which inspired Mahatma Gandhi, an Indian politician and... philosopher, to fight for the freedom of his people. "The Path of Life" is the last work of the writer, written in 1910. This book is a reflection on death and immortality, on religion and true faith, on love and the meaning of life. Tolstoy gathered both his own ideas and quotes from sages and philosophers from around the world: Kant, Lessing, Marcus Aurelius, Rousseau, Schopenhauer, Ramakrishna, Grigory Skovoroda, John Chrysostom, and others.
