This practical guide presents anatomical information about the human voice in an accessible form and contains answers to questions that people interested in the topic of voice production often ask.
* What are vocal folds or the velum?
* What structures lie behind such popular terms in the vocal community as twang, chest or head register, resonance, harmonics?
* Is there a connection between body position and the voice?
Knowing all this, you will be able to base your vocal work on anatomy: choosing specific exercises with consideration of how and why they will help optimize your preparation. The foundation of the book consists of simple and clear illustrations accompanied by text comments and explanations, making the content as understandable and accessible as possible for the reader. With the same aim, the anatomical descriptions presented in the book contain only the information that is directly related to voice production and vocals and will be practically useful.
The main topics covered in the guide:
* skeleton of voice production
* pressure apparatus
* larynx as the birthplace of voice
* vocal tract, articulation, and resonance
The book is aimed at everyone for whom the voice is an important tool in professional and even everyday life: singers, actors, speakers, educators, speech therapists, choirs, lawyers…
