After his father’s death, Michel, a civil servant who has lost his taste for life on the brink of forty, heads to Thailand to indulge himself in exotic pleasures. There he meets Valerie, an employee of a large tourism company, and shares with her his theory about the true motives of Europeans seeking thrills.
