When Desmond is placed in the foster family of the Kerpers, he cannot hide his anger. This is yet another attempt by the shelter to find him a home, and he is sure that he will soon return — like an unwanted package. Life in a wealthy family is a step towards his cherished dream of becoming a professional footballer. But his aspiration has a serious obstacle: his attraction to Anaïs, a girl who will likely become his sister. Anaïs makes him feel that he is worth something, that he is important and loved. Des seems to be the only one who truly understands her. He really sees her, and Anaïs clings to that to fight against the pain. Will two lonely souls be able to look beyond themselves?
