The action of the novel «Prague Cemetery» unfolds almost entirely in France, but the consequences of this intrigue will tragically affect the whole world. Soon, Russia will be at the center of events, where in 1905 the famous literary forgery... «The Protocols of the Elders of Zion» was first printed. The novel documents who was behind the creation of this forgery. The main character is quite vile, and everything that happens to him is both terrible and interesting. The author, constructing the plot in the spirit of Alexandre Dumas, drags the breathless reader through the stinking Parisian sewers and gang dens, recruits the hero into Garibaldi's army, makes him spy on all the intelligence and counterintelligence agencies of the world, including the Russian secret police, pacifies hysterics from Dr. Charcot's clinic, drinks beer with Sigmund Freud, rushes shoulder to shoulder with Freedom on the barricades and even participates in a satanic mass. At the same time, as always, Umberto Eco delivers to the reader a huge charge of knowledge and ideas in the guise of an adventure novel.
