Passions of Israel

The collection features works by the outstanding writer Friedrich Gorenstein (1932-2002), dedicated to Israel and the fate of this state. Previously unpublished journalistic essays and a pamphlet treatise attest to Gorenstein's deep knowledge of the subject and his brilliant talent... as a polemicist. The book concludes with a synopsis of the script "Jewish Stories Told in Israeli Restaurants," in the finale of which the writer asserts with hope: "There has been, is, and will be above the roof of the Jewish home God's messenger, the Guardian Angel, all the more so now, not under someone else's, but under his own, closest, roof, music will play, free laughter will be heard…"
