The Torah with Commentaries by Rabbi Isaac Abarbanel. Volume 1. Creation of the World

Rabbi Isaac Abarbanel (Abrahamel, 1437-1508) was the greatest Jewish thinker of his time, a prominent political figure in several Iberian states, and a prolific author. The most important work of his life is an extensive commentary on the books of... the Hebrew Bible. This volume opens a multi-volume edition of the Russian translation of Rabbi Isaac Abarbanel's main work — a detailed commentary on the Pentateuch, in which he lays out his philosophical, cosmogonical, and theological ideas, based on views of the Middle Ages but significantly influenced by the Renaissance. The first volume of the edition includes the translation of Abarbanel's commentary on the first three chapters of the biblical book Bereshit (Book of Genesis).
