Great Fish

«Great Fish» – an experimental novel about the most traditional and eternal. Its action takes place in Samaria – and simultaneously in a dozen countries; it lasts for several minutes – and over two thousand years; it has many main... characters, and yet the main character – is one... This is an attempt to connect hagiographic literature – with historical chronicles and artistic – with non-fiction; to look at the phenomenon of sanctity – through the eyes of a historian and on history – through the eyes of a saint.
An Egyptian monk and a Bulgarian hermit, a Georgian queen and a Russian princess, a Czech bishop and Serbian prisoners… All of them – «great fish», somewhat similar to each other, no matter what temporal and spatial boundaries separate them. On the pages of the novel, they coexist with one another, and their destinies – so different – merge into one fate and one endless story.
