Mikhail Kuzishchev is a music journalist, researcher, and blogger, the author of several interviews with foreign musicians published in such Russian publications as Zvuki.ru, InRock, Music Box, and "SOYUZ" (Soyuz.Ru) among others. He is a laureate of the A.M. Zverev... Prize awarded by the magazine "Foreign Literature" for his work on the lyrics of Bob Dylan. For twenty years, he co-hosted — along with Vladimir Ilyinsky — the show "120 Minutes of Rock Classics" on the radio station "Echo of Moscow." He is the author of the radio series on the history of punk rock titled "Walks on the Wild Side," which aired from 2006 to 2014. Mikhail Kuzishchev's book "Punk Rock. The Backstory. Walks on the Wild Side: From Bob Dylan to Captain Beefheart" is the story of the emergence of American punk rock. It includes texts about the bands and artists of the 1960s, who were the pioneers of this genre and challenged the popular music of that time — from iconic and widely known figures like Bob Dylan and The Velvet Underground to lesser-known yet unique acts like The Shaggs. The author was able to personally communicate with some musicians: with Ernie Brooks of The Modern Lovers and with John "Drumbo" French, a close associate of Captain Beefheart.
