Queen: How It All Began

The authors of the biography "Queen: How It All Began", Jackie Smith and Jim Jenkins, are devoted fans and researchers of the creativity and history of the legendary band. Jackie has been leading the Queen fan club for over twenty years, which has made it into the Guinness World Records. Jim is rightfully considered one of the most competent experts on the band’s work, having participated in many Queen projects over the years; it was Jackie who wrote the accompanying text for videos and annotations on the sleeves of vinyl albums of Greatest Hits.

The book, rich in details drawn from interviews with witnesses and close people of the band members, extensively describes the entire creative journey of Queen: from the origins until the end of 1996, the first years after Freddie Mercury's death. It presents the stories of each band member from childhood and their early musical achievements to unprecedented success, receiving the Britannia Award, and Billboard awards simultaneously in three categories (Disco, Rock, R&B), the legendary show in 1985 at Live Aid, and the band's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
