More than a hundred years have passed since the creation of Maxim Gorky's play «At the Bottom», and its heroes have not disappeared and are still recognizable: homeless people, thieves, prostitutes — rejected by society, the people of the «bottom» — as if they have moved through time, not losing their problems, from Gorky's den to the streets of the modern metropolis.
