Temujin O, Adrian Cabbish, and the Philosopher — transiters of the all-powerful shadow organization "Oversight," moving between parallel realities and interfering in events, increasing the organization's influence on the world. Mrs. Malverhill and Patient 8262 — former transiters, who doubt both the "Oversight" itself and the correctness of its actions.
