Wanderer Among the Stars

Darrel Standing is serving time in a solitary cell of a California prison.

The guards there employ inhumane torture: prisoners are dressed in straitjackets, tightening the straps until they bleed and their bones crack, and this hell continues not for minutes and hours, but for days and even weeks.

Darrel learns the secret of spirit travel through time and space and, in order to drown out the pain from torture and loneliness, transforms into an interstellar wanderer, rushing into the past, into his previous incarnations.

“Wanderer Among the Stars” is another title of the novel “The Straitjacket” – the most mysterious and last major work of Jack London that was published during the author's lifetime.
