Suicide Note

In the office of the police chief, Captain Nikolai Sorokin, the body of his girlfriend Tamara has been discovered. According to a note left behind, it seems to be a suicide. However, the captain and his young assistants Kolka and Olya think otherwise. Tamara had no reason to voluntarily leave life: she worked as the head of the canteen and lived comfortably for the post-war period. Sorokin could hardly imagine that the investigation of this strange incident would take him back to his youth, when death in a familiar female guise nearly seized the young Chekist captain by the throat…
