In Moscow, a young artist named David dies under mysterious circumstances. The police are convinced that it is a suicide due to an overdose of sleeping pills. However, investigator Timofey Lototsky has a different opinion. He tries to establish the... involvement of the artist's friend, Alice, in the incident. The girl behaves very strangely: she writes letters to herself, analyzing her relationship with David, which drove the artist into depression during his lifetime.
