The Last of the Mohicans

This book is an adaptation of the novel "The Last of the Mohicans" by the famous American writer James Fenimore Cooper, whose works gained immense popularity in both the USA and Europe. The action of the novel takes place during the colonial wars in North America. Some Indian tribes have been almost completely exterminated. Beauties Cora and Alice, Major Heyward, brave hunter Hawkeye, and their valiant friends Chingachgook and Uncas must overcome numerous obstacles and dangers on their way to their goal - the British Fort William Henry, where their father awaits the girls. At the end of the book, Uncas dies in a fruitless attempt to save Cora, the eldest daughter, leaving his father Chingachgook as the last of the Mohicans.
After each chapter, there are comments and translations of difficult words and expressions, as well as exercises aimed at checking comprehension of the text, practicing vocabulary and grammatical constructions, and developing speaking skills.
