Beauties Cora and Alice, Major Heyward, brave hunter Hawkeye, and their valiant friends Chingachgook and Uncas must overcome numerous obstacles and dangers on their way to their goal - the British Fort William Henry, where their father awaits the girls. At the end of the book, Uncas dies in a fruitless attempt to save Cora, the eldest daughter, leaving his father Chingachgook as the last of the Mohicans.
