English edition. Epidemics, wars, corrupt elites? All of this was present in Orwell! George Orwell is a British writer and journalist, a socialist who fought in Spain against Franco. This book includes several of his works. The autobiographical novella Homage to Catalonia tells in the first person about Orwell's participation in the Spanish Civil War. The novel Coming Up for Air, filled with a sense of the impending war, is dedicated to the nostalgia for the vanishing era, which you, dear reader, are surely familiar with as well. Finally, Animal Farm hardly needs an introduction. This novella allegorically describes the confrontation between Stalin and Trotsky in the USSR. This conflict directly affected Orwell himself, who was accused of Trotskyism in Spain and had to flee. The text is presented unabridged and unadapted. Enjoy the wonderful prose of Orwell in the original!
