Charles Dickens – a classic English author, recognized worldwide. His works have been translated into many languages, are constantly being reissued, and are often adapted into films. The novel “Great Expectations” is one of the author's last works. It tells... the story of a young man named Philip Pirrip, who was nicknamed Pip in childhood. As a simple boy, he falls in love with the beautiful Estella, but she merely plays with him. Suddenly, someone wishing to remain unknown donates a large sum for Pip's upbringing. Will he be able to become a true gentleman and win the heart of his beloved? And most importantly, will his great expectations be shattered when he discovers who his benefactor is? The work is adapted for the A2 level of English proficiency. For the reader's convenience, the text is accompanied by comments and a glossary.
