The Chosen of Death

A long time ago, the ladies Fate, Life, and Death created an Island and chose the Guardians who were to rule it, bestowing magic on the chosen ones and depriving it from the unworthy. But people betrayed the Guardians and... seized power. According to legends, the souls of the rulers turned into precious stones, which can only be found by the worthy. Christian is a well-known hired assassin who has retained the remnants of the once powerful gift of the Singer of Death. Magic has nearly disappeared from the Island, and he has lost the ability to perform the last songs. The young man can only hear them. Christian's measured life changes when one of his contracts goes awry: the deceased begins to haunt him in dreams, and her last song plays over and over again. The struggle with the dreams leads the young man to the messenger Ilana, who is capable of helping to bring the Guardians back to life and revive magic on the Island.
