Git for Professional Programmers

This book is an updated guide to using Git in modern conditions. Since the Git project—a distributed version control system—was created by Linus Torvalds, many years have passed, and the Git system has become the dominant version control system for both commercial purposes and open source projects. Effective and well-implemented version control is essential for any successful web project. Gradually, this system has been adopted by almost all open source software developer communities. The emergence of a large number of graphical interfaces for all platforms and support for IDEs have allowed Git to be integrated into Windows operating systems. The second edition of the book has been updated for Git version 2.0 and pays great attention to GitHub.
